Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth Managing Coordinator

Primary location: Center for Schools and Communities, Camp Hill, Pa.
Salary range: $56,650 – $63,860 (exempt – salaried)
Shift type: Full-time

 

Position is responsible for activities necessary to increase awareness of the importance and impact of quality programs as well as develop and promote practice and policy that supports sustainable quality programs for disruptive youth. The AEDY managing coordinator is also responsible for technical assistance, program planning and coordination, delivery of trainings and workshops; and information gathering and development of resources and products to support the Center for Schools and Communities goals. This position is also responsible for providing support for the readiness/planning and fidelity of various programs in schools including, but not limited to alternative education for disruptive youth; will be responsible for creating cross program collaborations among all projects under the direction of the appropriate manager. Additionally, the coordinator must exhibit a level of autonomy and meet directly with Pennsylvania Department of Education staff.

Requires master’s degree in education or a related field and seven (7) years of experience working in alternative education, juvenile justice, community mental health or child welfare; or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and related knowledge and experience. Requires in-depth knowledge of the Pennsylvania Public School Code, Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth Guidelines and PA Crimes Code; and extensive experience with school systems and settings in the areas of student discipline, disruptive youth and alternative education.

Direct Certification Technical Assistance Coordinator

Salary range: $48,600 – $55,200 (exempt – salaried)

Position has primary responsibility for development and implementation of trainings and provision of technical assistance at the state and Local Education Agency level to assist in the successful development and implementation of statewide initiatives related to the National School Lunch Program.

 

Minimum requirements: A bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, health sciences and five (5) years’ related experience. Knowledge of interworking and functions of databases, including excellent skill in use of data, and group facilitation and training skills required.

Office of Dispute Resolution Special Education Coordinator

Primary location: Office of Dispute Resolution, Harrisburg, Pa.

The Office for Dispute Resolution (ODR) which administers the special education dispute resolution system on behalf of the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is seeking qualified candidate for a full-time position as a Special Education Coordinator.

 

Position has primary responsibility for providing statewide services on behalf of the Bureau of Special Education to families, organizations and legislative staff representing Pennsylvania’s exceptional children; provides response to inquiries and concerns about relevant laws, policies, procedures, and dispute resolution opportunities.

 

Minimum requirements: A bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ experience working within special education programs and services; or a combination of post-secondary education and experience with students with disabilities or diverse learners. Knowledge of federal/state laws/regulations/policies with regard to special education.
